Supercritical Fluids have been used in the chemical processing industry for some time. A supercritical process was probably used to remove caffeine in your cup of decaffeinated coffee. Using the unique properties of Super Critical Water to produce useful fuels is much more difficult. Ignite’s current journey took off in 2007 when it developed an unprecedented new way to use SCW to depolymerize organic polymers to produce valuable oil and coal products. IER believes that it has the world’s first continuous flow catalytic Hydrothermal Reactor Technology (Cat-HRT) for the depolymerization of ancient and modern biomass to high valued oils and coal products. Our unique process produces unique products, including a unique solution to the world’s future energy needs.
